Being local to Dorchester, artist and teacher Rachel Giles visited two famous houses, the quaint cottage in Thorncombe Woods and Max Gate, a house designed and built by Hardy where he wrote 'Jude the Obscure'
'Outside the Window' is based on Thomas Hardy's local surroundings and what he saw looking out of his windows.
