When the artist Henry Lamb married the young novelist Pansy Pakenham, he was twice her age, and his Bloomsbury friends despaired. But it turned out to be an extraordinary match of head and heart. Their home at Coombe Bissett drew in a circle of friends including Augustus John, David Cecil, L P Hartley and Cecil Beaton. Pansy’s nephew, the journalist Ferdinand Mount, will talk about their life together. This will be followed by tea and biscuits and the opportunity to visit the Henry Lamb exhibition.
