Ruth Scurr is an historian and lecturer at Cambridge University. She is also the author of a recent (2015) highly acclaimed book on John Aubrey the noted antiquary and writer. He was born and lived much of his life in Wiltshire. Most famous for his collection of short biographies ‘Brief Lives’, he also worked on a history of Wiltshire and investigated both Avebury and Stonehenge.
Ruth’s talk will concentrate on his Wiltshire connections and observations.
